How much fun did we have learning about all things kai moana today! A massive thank you to all of our helpers - the Zame brothers at Gisborne Fisheries, Amy and Kirsty and the crew from Ministry of Fisheries, who paid us a visit at the beach. We were even able to sample some kai moana in the most authentic way possible! What a great day - click here for more photos.

Putting the headphones to use!
Everyone was very excited to make a start on Steps Web on Friday and put their new headphones to use. This is such a great programme as the children can each work at their own level and pace - and it's super engaging as you can see! If you have a chance, do try it out at home. Details for login are on our class website :)

Visit to Cedenco
We visited Cedenco to see how foods get processed and turned from one product into another. We learnt that there are many tests that the people at Cedenco have to put the food through, to meet the demands of their customers. We were very lucky to be allowed to sample some of the products that have made using ingredients created at Cedenco too! More photos - click here
Making Hobo Stoves at School
What a fantastic day to be outside and test our hobo stoves. In our house groups we made out stove, then experimented with trying to cook a pancake on top. It was great fun and we learnt lots along the way. The pancakes even tasted pretty good too!
