One of our activities to celebrate Matariki this year was to make God's Eyes. Some of us had tried this year and were very keen to have another go. Could we remember how to weave these colourful patterns that we had experimented with last year? Yes we could - and this year they were even better! Everyone was super engaged and determined to complete their God's Eye. Some of us got a little frustrated to begin with when we couldn't keep our sticks in position, or we couldn't remember the weaving pattern. However with a lot of kia manawanui from our friends, and kia kaha that encouraged us not to give up, we all created our own unique and fantastic God's Eye! Some people were so keen they found themselves a long pair of sticks from the garden and worked on a second, even greater, God's Eye!
